  • Dear Sander, David, Barbara and everyone at ICU/Grassrootz,

Indeed it was short, but I had an amazing time. From the trip to Jinja and Mabira forest to the ndere show, it was a great refreshing experience.. even just wasting a few hours at ICU was fun! I hope i get to visit uganda and all of u again.

  • “We had a great time in Uganda during 8 days. The scenery is magnificent and varied (hills, craters, savannah, lakes, forests). We were very lucky with the animals since we saw antelope, pumbas, the buffalos, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and even two lions and a leopard and also hyenas. The accommodations were very nice and comfortable. The activities were very interesting: chimp track; game drive safari; two boat trip; Bunyoni lake (swimming); gorilla track (a group of 16 members with the back silver); walking safari. Our driver-guide, George, was very good: careful, efficient, helpful and available. The final welcome at ICU guesthouse was spotless”

  • I loved everything about my trip to Lake Mburo!

The activities (game drive, boat ride, walking safari) were a lot of fun; the sleeping accommodations at Eagle’s Nest were quaint, hospitable, felt like home, had great food, and the most amazing view; Paul, our guide, was very kind, easy-going, informative, and a joy to be around.

There’s nothing I disliked about my trip except the fact that I wish it lasted longer.

  • Everything was arranged for me and I had to do nothing a part from relaxing and enjoying.

All staff were very friendly and helpful.

    Thanks again,

    Lisan Berk:

Gorilla tracking was fantastisch!

  • While in Uganda, I used Grassrootz Adventures twice as a tour operator. After an absolutely amazing trip to northern Uganda, I had an excellent experience with them planning and booking a customized trip to western Uganda. Grassrootz Adventures can book accommodation and arrange activities according to your wishes and demands. Everything was well organized, decently priced and the driver they provided was professional and very friendly. He tried very hard to ensure that we had a great trip. I would definitely use their services again and recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Uganda.

  • Our trip to Murchison Falls National Park with Grassrootz was amazing. Our driver, George, was very well acquainted with the park and was therefore able to show us some astonishing sceneries. We were able to see the lions and their cubs resting several times, as well as the elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and a big variety of beautiful birds. Thank you grassrootz for this wonderful experience.

  • Hoogtepunten:

  • We have made a six day tour to Murchison, Kidepo and Kotido (Karamojong). It was a wonderfull and perfect tour. Nice sites, beautiful landscapes en wild live and interesting culture. Our driver and guide David was a really nice person, he has a lot of knowledge about the area, is a good and safe driver and pleasant company during our trip. The accommodations were very well. The tour gave us the opportunity to see the highlights of the North of Uganda and also learnt about the local culture. The only thing we are sorry about is that we didn’t made the trip a few days longer.

  • Dear Sander,

Our tour with Stephen was very good! The whole group really enjoyed the trip. It was a good mix of activities – community walk in Boomu, boat trip, the waterfall trek (would not have missed this), and the game drive.

The accommodation was also good. We all really liked the first stay at the Boomu village bandas; the Yebo camp could by replaced with a more charming alternative (I know this was a new place for Stephen – probably due to our last minute booking :)).

Stephen was a really good guide, I would definitely recommend him to others.

I am generally surprised by what I consider very high price levels for trips in Uganda – but Grassrootz seemed to have the best offer by far.

Again, we were very happy with the trip, and will recommend your company!

Ons verblijf was prachtig.

  • Onze trip was heerlijk!

    Hartelijk bedankt

When people remember their visit to Kidepo Valley National Park, the lion they saw catch a buffalo is not the first thing they will recall. Nor is it the Cheetah that they saw disappearing in the long grass of the Narus valley. While most think the giraffes, that roam the buffalo littered plains of Kidepo, are majestic, most would agree that the special thing about Kidepo is how untouched the park feels.
